At Journal of Student Science Exploration (JSSE), we believe high school students are capable of serious academic inquiry. Our mission is to support their voices and encourage meaningful engagement with research from an early stage.
At JSSE, we are dedicated to providing high school students with a unique platform to academic growth. We play a vital role in the academic world by offering young scholars platform to share their ideas and research. Here's how the journal contributes to the area of publishing with us.

Get your work seen by a global audience.
Improve research, writing, and critical thinking.
Connect with peers, mentors, and future collaborators.
Our journal is dedicated to efficient and prompt communication with all of our students. We get back to each inquiry within a week, which is our promise to students that they will not be left alone in the dark about what their next step in the process will be. We also take it a step further with our real time tracking system, which does more than just improve the speed and efficiency of our communication. Our team also provides students with a front row view to see their research paper’s progress through our journal system in real time. It is almost like we are giving students a close up look as their submission moves along through the review process. And of course, we use this approach not only to guide our students through a very defined path to publication, but also to break down the complex process of how publications come together for students.
Our journal is supported and guided by a distinguished professional community, which includes preeminent professors, postdoctoral researchers, and field leaders who bring to the table their in-depth expertise in order to maintain the journal’s academic integrity. The highly knowledgeable experts, in which we have the honor to count in our board, raise the bar for the quality of research we publish, and thus we are able to present very relevant research to the community we serve.
In our journal, students present their work, which is then carefully evaluated by our team of experts. This is done to ensure the material we present is at the top of the academic field and also to maintain academic integrity. From these, we report the results which we believe will add value to the research in the field. At the same time, we have a team of experts who review each research paper as a means to provide useful feedback, which, in the end, ensures that only well-analyzed and high-quality research is published.
We are committed to making all of our published material open and free. By adopting an open access approach, we are able to present research and thought to a worldwide audience that is not restricted by location or financial means. This, in turn, promotes the broadest possible spread of information and also encourages global academic collaboration and exchange.
Our publication is a platform that brings forward and highlights students’ perspectives and ideas. We see in young scholars a fresh and innovative take on what is presented in the academic world. By providing this platform, we give students a space to present in-depth research, join academic discussions, and recognize the value of their intellectual contributions.
A paper will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier, or DOI, upon publication. A Digital Object Identifier is a permanent and unique link that provides simple access to the article for citation, referencing, and future research. The DOI system is designed to ensure that you will always be able to retrieve the article and verify its content, which is why it remains an excellent source for academic work well after publication. The Digital Object Identifier greatly enhances the academic legitimacy and visibility of published research.
Engaging in research from a young age is not merely an academic exercise; it is a transformative experience that shapes students into critical thinkers and informed citizens. Here are several key reasons why fostering research skills in high school is essential.

Research helps students question assumptions, analyze data, and draw evidence-based conclusions, boosting critical thinking skills essential for academics and real life.

Research fosters a love for inquiry, sparking lifelong curiosity and a drive for continuous learning. It teaches students to ask questions, seek information, and stay engaged with the world.

Research empowers students to take charge of their learning, building confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility—key traits for success in higher education and beyond.

The JSSE offers students a platform to share their research, gain recognition, and contribute to their fields, helping bridge the gap between high school and higher education.

Research enhances academic performance by teaching vital skills like writing, data analysis, and presenting—preparing students for the challenges of college-level work.
